DOMINION approaches!!
In the past few days I was able to experience the new game mode offered by my favorite game - LoL: Dominion when beta testing was available during off-peak hours. Compared to the regular 5vs5 or 3vs3 games, Dominion is very different - much more fast-paced and much more exciting - and the strategy leans towards capturing the enemy turrets rather than killing enemy champions, although killing them means the other team will have less champions capturing your turrets/defending their turrets. It's so much fun that I could almost drop anything to play once we find that the limited-time beta testing is happening - I can't wait until it actually comes live!!

christmas is just around the corner...
... and this laptop featured on engadget would be on my wish-list - especially since they used LOL to showcase it :)

jfdkl;ajfdklajfdklaf
LoL, one of my favorite ways to let off some steam, has not treated me kindly lately. Well, it's not exactly the game's fault - there was a huge update featuring new interface and graphics along with a bunch of other patches, but somehow after it's updated my computer doesn't seem capable of handling the game anymore - choppy graphics, constant lags, frequent disconnection... you name it.
LoL was the prime suspect that killed the hard drive on B's XPS (and the drive was only a couple of months old!) It got especially frustrating tonight because my first game was ruined by incessant interruptions (phone calls, having to move car) and second by internet connectivity issues due to the lightning storm. Then, after finally getting the time to sit down with B for a game uninterrupted, my computer crashed altogether, seemingly from overheat. Looks like I'm going to need to upgrade my hardware soon.
P.S. in case you're wondering what "jfdkl;ajfdklajfdklaf" is, it's what you'd get when you hit your keyboard in frustration, usually after an untimely lag.

recovery weekend
Hell is finally over, or so I hope. After being awaken around 3 a.m. on Friday I couldn't get back to bed, so I started my weekend with a lot of LOL practice. I think they must have done something with Shen in the latest update patch because he used to be a better tank and much less squishy.
When the sun came up, I decided to hit the gym for some last minute shape-ups and tried a spinning class. Boy, I thought I'd never sweat so much in BodyAttack, but this group cycling class they call "All Terrain" had me soaked 5 minutes into the routine. I loved the music, but kept feeling like I couldn't go on every time the instructor cued us to increase the resistance. I got a little wobbly coming off the bike, and my neck and shoulders were sore. Otherwise, I felt great! I think I will give it another try, this time sticking to instructions about upping the gear - I kinda cheated and kept the resistance about the same throughout most of the class. It's definitely a good alternative to the high-impact BodyAttack.
After my workout I headed over to B's - I wanted him to see what I would be wearing to his cousin's wedding. He didn't like the blue dress Michelle and I had picked out, so I went in a black chiffon dress instead. Getting ready took longer than expected and since B's mom volunteered to do my hair, I didn't get to attend the ceremony. We did make it in time for the reception though. It felt quite uncomfortable - I must have had way more hairspray in my hair than I'd normally use in a year and I had on makeup so thick that I had to wash my face twice to remove it all.
But it's worth it, don't you think?
I spent the rest of the weekend in Markham because I wasn't going to drive after all those glasses of wine Saturday night and I had a splitting headache on Sunday (maybe a hangover?). It was definitely nice to not have to worry about anything - and now that mom's back from HK, I'm hoping that everything will be OK.

what was i thinking???
It was a big mistake tonight - we should have skipped our games night when Mish couldn't make it - but we didn't, and on top of that, since I'm house-bound, we had games night at my place. BIG MISTAKE. I should have known it'd be better off to get some personal time to relax rather than hosting games night, and I'm sorry I didn't think it through first. I ended up more stressed. Now I'm having second thoughts about the trip - especially now that they're suggesting to go in one car.
Or maybe it's just withdrawl symptoms - indicative of my addiction to LoL...
